Come on a drive down memory lane with ŠKODA Storyboard and check out the procession of automobiles, from the company’s very first car in its 125-year history to its latest model. The ENYAQ iV, the new electric SUV that will be presented to the world in September this year, has taken some inspiration from every one of its predecessors and blends together all the ideas, innovations, tradition and values of the ŠKODA brand.

VOITURETTE A

The L&K VOITURETTE A was the foundation of the Czech carmaker laid in 1905 by Václav Laurin and Václav Klement. They produced their first automobile just ten years after setting up a company to make bicycles and motorbikes.

SUPERB

Room to spare and smooth driving experience – that was the company’s flagship in the 1930s. The carmaker’s top-of-the-range model at that time was called the SUPERB.

POPULAR

The POPULAR MONTE CARLO’s transaxle setup with the gearbox at the rear axle delivered unprecedented dynamism. The car was made in honour of the brand’s first success in the legendary Monte Carlo Rally. The ‘Monte Carlo’ designation has since been used for model versions evoking the brand’s famous sporting history.

FELICIA

Produced from 1959 to 1964, the FELICIA was the last cabriolet manufactured by the company. Compared its predecessor, the 450 model, it had a number of technical innovations, including telescopic shock absorbers on the front axle and a modern-looking dashboard.

1000 MB

The ŠKODA 1000 MB from 1964 was a genuine technical milestone – it was the Czech carmaker’s first monocoque body and marked the start of the rear-mounted engine era. Another innovation was that the engine was made from pressure-cast aluminium.

110 R

For a long time after it first appeared, the gorgeous two-door 110 R coupé was the stuff of many big kids’ dreams. An “everything at the rear” drive concept lay beneath its handsome lines. The 110 R was the basis of the 130 RS racing car, which notched up numerous successes in domestic and international rallies and on racing circuits. To this day, ŠKODA sports models are given the RS designation in its honour.

TREKKA

The TREKKA was the predecessor of the Czech carmaker’s present-day SUVs. Based on the OCTAVIA, the TREKKA was created in New Zealand in 1966 to suit local customers’ specific needs and demands.

FAVORIT

The compact FAVORIT model from 1987 is another milestone, when the company switched to the modern car design concept with the engine at the front and front-wheel drive. Designed by the Bertone studio, the car also came in estate and pick-up versions.

1996 saw the arrival of the first modern-era OCTAVIA, the first ŠKODA car entirely developed beneath the wings of the Volkswagen group. The spacious interior and unbeatable value for money subsequently became the calling card of all the brand’s models.
