Under the bonnet, a dynamically tuned 2.0 TSI engine delivers 195 kW (265 hp) and is paired with a fast-shifting seven-speed DSG transmission. “The engine’s flexibility is excellent. Even at low and mid-range revs, it has plenty of power, making overtaking a breeze without unnecessary downshifting,” praises Emil.
Gifted chassis
The Kodiaq RS comes standard with all-wheel drive and progressive steering, improving steering dynamics and making manoeuvring easier by reducing the number of steering wheel turns between full locks. The wheels confidently grip the road on any surface. “The front axle is beautifully precise, with no signs of understeer,” shares the experienced racer.
Premium comfort
The standard DCC+ shock absorbers feature dual-valve technology, allowing them to react faster and ensure both precise vehicle response during sporty driving and smooth comfort for relaxed cruising. Acoustic side windows further contribute to a quiet, vibration-free ride. “Thanks to them, it’s quiet and peaceful inside,” Emil whispers—and is still heard clearly.
Generous space
Even the sporty version of the Kodiaq is available in both five- and seven-seat configurations. With the third row of seats folded down, the trunk offers a massive 845-liter capacity of luggage space. “Loading a few mechanics and parts for a midday rally service will be easy,” says Emil, already planning to use the Kodiaq RS during a competition weekend.
