The number 27 is the star of the show as the latest Number of the Month, ŠKODA Storyboard’s series in which we regularly shed light on interesting facts about ŠKODA cars, on their past, present and future, and on events at ŠKODA, expressed through a particular number.
ŠKODA has partnered the tournament non-stop since 1993, a feat of endurance that has earned a placed in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest-running sponsorship of any sports world championship.
Pucks will be dropped on to the centre-circle ŠKODA logo at the face-off of all 64 games in the Slovak cities of Bratislava and Košice this year. A ŠKODA SCALA, ŠKODA KAMIQ and ŠKODA KODIAQ RS will be on display behind the hoarding.
Every year, ŠKODA lays on a fleet of cars for the championship organisers. Ever since 1992, when ŠKODA FAVORITs were first put into the service of ice-hockey, ŠKODA cars have clocked up roughly 6.5 million kilometres in the livery of the ice-hockey world championship. That’s about 250,000 kilometres per championship. This year, the organising team will be assisted by a fleet of 50 cars, mainly comprising the popular KODIAQ and KAROQ SUVs.
