› Powerful and efficient engines: 85 kW (115 PS) and 110 kW (150 PS)
› Convenient six-speed automatic and seven-speed DSG transmissions optional
› Making its debut in the segment: Active Cylinder Technology to lower fuel consumption and emissions
Mladá Boleslav / Pune, 28 February 2022 – There is a choice of two powerful yet efficient TSI petrol engines for the ŠKODA SLAVIA. The entry-level variant, a three-cylinder 1.0 TSI, produces 85 kW (115 PS), while the top-level engine, a four-cylinder EVO-generation 1.5 TSI, delivers 110 kW (150 PS). Both units meet India’s stringent BS6 emission standards and come with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. Stop/Start technology with recuperation is another standard feature. A six-speed automatic gearbox is available as an option for the 1.0 TSI, while the 1.5 TSI can be fitted with a seven-speed DSG.
ŠKODA offers the new SLAVIA with a choice of advanced and efficient TSI petrol engines. The two units are direct injection engines and offer dynamic performance as well as low fuel consumption. Both engines meet India’s stringent BS6 emission criteria and come with a six-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive as standard.
Powerful and efficient 1.0 TSI
The SLAVIA’s entry-level engine is a powerful 1.0-litre TSI. The three-cylinder petrol unit develops 85 kW (115 PS) and a maximum torque of 178 Nm, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 190 km/h, while the Stop/Start system with recuperation (standard feature) contributes to the car’s low fuel consumption and correspondingly low CO2 emissions. The variant with the optional six-speed automatic transmission also comes with Stop/Start technology as standard and it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.7 seconds, with a top speed of 190 km/h.
Plasma-coated 1.5 TSI EVO with Active Cylinder Technology
The top-end engine is the 1.5 TSI with a power output of 110 kW (150 PS) and maximum torque of 250 Nm. The four-cylinder 1.5‑litre EVO-generation engine allows the SLAVIA to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds and to achieve a top speed of 190 km/h. Numerous technical measures enable low fuel consumption. The engine can also be coupled with a seven-speed DSG. Both cars, whether fitted with a manual gearbox or automatic transmission, come with Stop/Start technology with recuperation as standard. The turbocharger features variable vane geometry, which produces more torque at a wider range of engine speeds. The cylinder liners are plasma-coated with a layer that measures just 150 μm (0.15 mm). This reduces internal friction, which lowers fuel consumption and emissions. Through better distribution and dissipation of heat in the combustion chamber, it also lowers the thermal load on the engine. Active Cylinder Technology (ACT), which makes its debut in the segment, automatically shuts down two cylinders when engine load is low, further reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
