In 2016, ŠKODA delivered more than 436,000 OCTAVIA models to customers worldwide. More than 58,000 of these OCTAVIAs were newly registered in Germany. This places the compact model amongst the Top 10 in the German Federal Motor Transport Authority’s registration statistics. In terms of registration, the OCTAVIA is the most successful import car in Germany.
ŠKODA will be continuing this success sustainably in the first half of 2017 with the dealership premiere of the upgraded ŠKODA OCTAVIA. The brand’s comprehensively revised bestseller scores points with its redesigned front and rear sections as well as attractive equipment features. These include full-LED headlights and state-of-the-art solutions in terms of driver assistance systems, infotainment and connectivity. After the new ŠKODA KODIAQ SUV, the revised OCTAVIA is the second model in the ŠKODA vehicle range to come with the Care Connect online services as standard. The ŠKODA OCTAVIA SCOUT and ŠKODA OCTAVIA RS also benefit from the upgrade of the model series. With its pepped-up 169-kW (230-PS) 2.0 TSI engine and a top speed of 250 km/h, the revised OCTAVIA RS is now the fastest production OCTAVIA in the history of the traditional Czech brand.
This year, readers of the renowned specialist magazine ‘auto, motor und sport’ voted on the ‘Best Cars’ for the 41st time. Overall, there were 378 models in eleven categories to choose from. In the compact car category, the ŠKODA OCTAVIA won 17.5 per cent of the votes to become the No. 1 amongst the import cars. This is already the fourth time in a row that the brand’s bestseller has triumphed in the ‘Best Cars’ competition.
