The wheel hub motor on the rear wheel has an output of up to 4 kW with a top speed of 45 km/h (28mph). The two Li-ion batteries with 52 cells each have a total capacity of 1,250 Wh – enough for a range of up to 62 kilometres. The batteries can easily be removed and can be charged by plugging into a standard socket and while riding through energy recuperation. For optimum safety, the KLEMENT is equipped with a front hydraulic brake with ABS and modern LED lights.
A future mass-production version of the KLEMENT could feature many other ideas, including driver assistance systems, ‘functions-on-demand’ and special foam tyres made of the insulating material used in running shoes to provide a comfortable and quiet riding experience.
EUROBIKE is the world’s most important bike trade fair with around 1,400 exhibitors. This year, Friedrichshafen is hosting the show, and the halls are open to trade visitors from 4 to 6 September and the general public on 7 September.
