A few short months following the successful market launch of the new Superb hatch, ŠKODA will be presenting the estate version of their flagship in Frankfurt for the first time at an international motor show. Just like the hatch version, the ŠKODA Superb estate has reached an exciting new level in terms of technology and design. “ŠKODA plans to grow further by placing increasing emphasis on emotion alongside the brand’s core values of space and functionality,” explains ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. “The new ŠKODA Superb Combi is the realisation of our goal to provide the perfect combination of aesthetics and functionality in the automotive mid-class.”
The new ŠKODA Superb Combi impressively transforms the expressive design of the Superb hatch into the bodywork of a dynamic and elegant mid-class estate. Based on innovative MQB technology, this ‘balancing act’ has also led to the model having the largest interior space in its segment. This applies to both the unusually spacious interior as well as the boot. The total load capacity in the boot is almost 2,000 litres – a size that is otherwise only found in the upper mid-class.
The new ŠKODA Superb Combi has reached a whole new level in terms of Comfort. One particular highlight is the adaptive chassis control system Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), including Driving Mode Select. There are new air-conditioning systems, including for the first time new three-zone climate control, also an electric-opening panoramic sunroof, auxiliary heating, heated seats, rain-light sensor and wirelessly heated windscreen and heated windscreen washer jets. The electric boot can be opened by moving your foot under the rear of the vehicle. New systems make getting in and out of parking spaces easier than ever. Another great feature is having an umbrella in each of the front doors.
The ŠKODA Superb Combi also offers the highest quality in terms of connectivity. The new infotainment systems automatically connect to many smartphones, so that selected applications can be used on the vehicle’s multiscreen. Vehicle data can be accessed using the SmartGate function on your mobile device. With high-speed Internet access, the new ŠKODA Superb Combi becomes a hotspot on wheels. You can even control the infotainment system from the backseat using the ŠKODA Media Command App.
No compromises – that is the motto when it comes to safety. The new ŠKODA Superb Combi has all the assistance systems found in the new Superb hatch. Installed as standard in all EU countries, the model features Front Assist with City Emergency Brake, Multi-Collision Brake (integrated into ESC), electronic tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic differential lock (EDL) with the extended XDS+ function and seven airbags. Available options include automatic distance control (Adaptive Cruise Control), proactive occupant protection (Crew Protect Assist), Lane Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Blind Spot Detect, Rear Traffic Alert, Emergency Assist, fatigue detection (Driver Alert), Speedlimiter, traffic sign recognition (Travel Assist) and Hill-Hold Control. Also available: the masked high beam Smart Light Assist, Light Assist and Adaptive Frontlight System.
The new ŠKODA Superb Combi achieves record consumption and emission values. The new model consumes and emits up to 30 per cent less fuel and CO2 compared to its predecessor, whilst the engine power has increased up to 20 per cent. All-wheel drive is available for four Superb engines.
Sporty design – the new ŠKODA Superb SportLine
The new ŠKODA Superb SportLine, which will be celebrating its world premiere in Frankfurt, features a distinctly sporty appearance. Both the hatch and estate versions of the ŠKODA Superb SportLine have sporty design elements in the exterior and interior, as well as comprehensive equipment. With the exception of the respective base petrol and diesel drivetrains, the ŠKODA Superb SportLine will be available with all the current Superb engines.
The most noteworthy features of the ŠKODA Superb SportLine include the black 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels, the tinted rear side windows and back window (sunset), and the sport chassis lowered by 15 mm. The interior of the SportLine version includes a three-spoke sports steering wheel and gear knob finished in leather, sports seats with exclusive seat covers, pedals in an aluminium finish and trim elements in carbon.
Just 3.7 litres diesel per 100 km – the new ŠKODA Superb GreenLine
The new Superb also scores well when it comes to the environment. This is especially true for the new ŠKODA Superb GreenLine 1.6 TDI/88 kW. With fuel consumption of just 3.7 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of just 95 g per km (hatchback), the ŠKODA Superb GreenLine 1.6 TDI/88 kW sets the environmental standards within its segment both as a hatchback and an estate. On a full tank, the ‘green’ version of the new ŠKODA flagship has a maximum range of up to 1,780 km. Adjustments to the engine and gearbox technology, low-resistance tyres and aerodynamic improvements have made this possible.
Sporty elegance – the new ŠKODA Rapid Monte Carlo
Also celebrating its world premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt, the new ŠKODA Rapid Monte Carlo will be heading to dealerships in November with a fresh look, sporty interior and the latest extras. This is the brand’s sixth model in their impressive Monte-Carlo range.
Black 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels, the black finish of the radiator grille frame, exterior mirror housings, front and rear spoilers, doorsills and rear diffuser emphasise the model’s powerful presence on the road. A Monte-Carlo badge is affixed to each of the B pillars. The rear side windows and back window are tinted (SunSet), as are the rear lights. Electrically adjustable and heated wing mirrors, xenon headlights and tinted fog lights come as standard. The sporty look continues to the interior; the three-spoke sports steering wheel in leather matches the gearstick and handbrake, complemented by individual sports seats and other design elements.
Young adventurous compact – the new ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine
ŠKODA will be presenting the special version of their compact hatchback for the first time at a motor show this September in Frankfurt. The ŠKODA Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine pulls up with black and silver spoilers, black panelling around the sills and wheel arches, silver 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels and silver door mirror housings.
Real power – the ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 and ŠKODA Fabia R5 Combi
Rounding off ŠKODA’s emotional appearance in Frankfurt, the brand will be presenting two masters of speed – the ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 and ŠKODA Fabia R5 Combi. The ŠKODA Octavia RS 230 combines expressive design with modern technology and impressive horsepower. The Octavia RS 230 is ŠKODA’s first model to feature an electronically controlled limited-slip differential for particularly dynamic cornering as standard. The additional ‘230’ designation refers to the horsepower of the RS special edition: under the bonnet, you will find a 169 kW/230 PS two-litre petrol engine. In combination with a manual six-speed gearbox, the Octavia RS 230 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, making the Octavia RS 230 the fastest series-produced Octavia of all time.
In addition, the Czech car manufacturer will be presenting the ŠKODA Fabia R5 Combi. The estate version of the brand’s successful rally car – the ŠKODA Fabia R5 – has a dynamic look with its distinctive green-white-black finish and 18-inch alloy wheels. The widened chassis houses genuine racing technology, including the 1.6-litre turbo engine with 205 kW (279 hp).
