Mladá Boleslav, 21 August 2024 – On Sunday, 18 August, the third iteration of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift concluded with the eighth stage, a challenging mountain stage from Le Grand-Bornand to Alpe d’Huez. The overall winner was Katarzyna Niewiadoma, while Marianne Vos clinched the points classification. During the award ceremony, Johannes Neft, Škoda Auto Board Member for Technical Development, presented her with the green crystal trophy created by the Škoda Design department. Škoda Auto was the main partner of the race for the third time, providing the organisers with 70 electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The fully electric Škoda Enyaq served as the ‘Red Car’ for Race Director Marion Rousse. This year, the partnership with the organising body A.S.O. was extended until 2028, encompassing 20 major cycling races for both men and women.

“My heartfelt congratulations to all the athletes on their remarkable performances, captivating thousands of fans along the track and millions of viewers around the world. The racers are an inspiration for us all to continually push our limits – including us at Škoda. We are pleased that we could support this event once again as the main partner. And by providing 70 electric and plug-in vehicles, we contributed to making the race even more sustainable.”

Johannes Neft, Škoda Auto Board Member for Technical Development

Czech crystal trophy for the winner of the points classification
This year, 154 racers in 22 teams lined up for the start of the 950-kilometre race. Due to the Olympic Games taking place at the same time, the ceremonial Grand Départ took place for the first time outside France, in Rotterdam. Across eight stages, the competitors conquered challenging routes through the Netherlands, Belgium, and France, concluding at the mountain resort of Alpe d’Huez.

Katarzyna Niewiadoma of CANYON//SRAM Racing team was crowned the overall winner, while Marianne Vos of Team Visma | Lease a Bike won the points competition. She received the green crystal trophy designed by the Škoda Design team from Škoda Auto Board Member for Technical Development Johannes Neft in Alpe d’Huez. The iconic trophy embodies dynamism and simultaneously symbolises the race: It is broader at the base, mirroring the large field of competitors at the start. It then tapers towards the middle as the main favourites begin to emerge, culminating at the top where only the winners of the seven-day race stand. Additionally, Škoda Auto sponsored the green jersey for the leading rider in the points classification of the women’s Tour.

70 electric and plug-in hybrid Škoda vehicles
For the third time, Škoda Auto served as the official main partner of the race and provided the organisers this year with 70 electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Among these was the electric Enyaq leading the peloton. It served as the ‘Red Car’, a mobile command centre on the track for Race Director Marion Rousse. This year, Škoda Auto extended its partnership with the organising body A.S.O. until 2028, supporting 20 international professional and amateur sporting events for men and women.
