Shaping the Future of Auto Design

They may be wonderfully functional, but ŠKODA cars are also strikingly well designed. The 70-strong international team that makes this possible has a primary goal: to make cars that are inspiring at first sight but also achieve an enduring aesthetic value.

Led by ŠKODA Head of Design Jozef Kabaň, the multinational design group reflects the company’s growing international vision. The team works on the models of tomorrow, fine-tunes the right proportions and shapes, searches for suitable interior materials and, together with other development and production areas, creates the perfect relationship between design and function.

To achieve its best, the team is divided into different groups with specific responsibilities – from exteriors and interiors to colours and modelling (both actual clay models and virtual computer ones).

The output of this well-tuned team has been impressive. Since 2011, ŠKODA has honed a unique design language with stunning attention to detail. And it has not gone unnoticed. The ŠKODA Superb Combi received the renowned Red Dot design award in 2016, adding to the many other ŠKODA model series that have in the past won this prestigious accolade.

In addition, there are ŠKODA’s concept cars, which are creative trendsetters. The spectacular coupé study ŠKODA VisionC hints at where the ŠKODA design language is heading: expressive, dynamic and full of emotion. Design at ŠKODA is all about shaping the future.
