Kamiq, Karoq, Kodiaq? Great choices for the city and countryside
Big, bigger, biggest – three siblings from Škoda’s SUV family. However, size is not the only difference between them, and they all tick slightly different boxes. Take a closer look.
In Škoda’s diverse portfolio, the Kodiaq, Karoq and Kamiq SUVs stand out for their versatility, adaptability and style. Each SUV has its own specific set of advantages, from the compact Kamiq that’s perfect for getting around town to the large Kodiaq, which has room for a family of seven.

Space for big families and an off-road workhorse
The Kodiaq, for example, will be particularly appreciated by lovers of bigger cars with bold design and spacious interiors. Zbyněk Straškraba, spokesman for this robust model, puts it like this: “The Kodiaq is a symbol of strength and versatility. It’s ideal for families looking for flexibility on the road and off-road.” The Kodiaq’s seven-seater capacity makes it the ideal car for larger families. “Roominess and variability are key features of the Kodiaq. With its sliding seats and ample space, it’s the perfect companion for any family outing,” Zbyněk Straškraba says, summing up the Kodiaq’s benefits.
As the largest SUV in the range, the Kodiaq is more than a match for a variety of weather and terrain conditions. Its 4x4 drive makes it the ideal choice for drivers who demand all-terrain performance. “The Kodiaq is a workhorse that makes light work of challenging conditions, but it also offers a supremely comfortable ride, even in mountainous or remote areas. The Kodiaq is also the only one of the trio to feature mild-hybrid and plug-in-hybrid powertrains,” Zbyněk Straškraba points out.
On tarmac or off-road, with kids or without
Compared to the Kodiaq, the Karoq offers more compact dimensions. Its key quality is its versatility, combined with excellent handling and stability. “This car offers comfort and convenience not only in town, but on longer journeys as well,” says spokeswoman Anežka Boudná, adding that it’s the ideal car for families and individuals with an active lifestyle who are looking for flexibility and interior space. It’s a great all-rounder for day-to-day life and longer journeys. And it doesn’t matter if these journeys take you off-road, as the Karoq is also available in four-wheel drive.
The Karoq also features a clever seating layout with the VarioFlex system, which allows the seats in the second row to be independently moved, reclined or even removed entirely, bringing exceptional practicality for users who need flexibility of interior space. So it doesn’t matter if you’re carrying a dog in the Karoq, or occasionally need space to fit in a bike, or sometimes need a child seat.

Incidentally, all three of Škoda’s SUV models are great choices for families with kids. They offer Isofix on the passenger seat and on the rear seats, which also have a Top Tether anchor point. This makes fitting child seats easy. What’s more, Škoda offers original accessories to take the hassle out of journeys with children – from tablet and phone holders to door bins.
Flexible partner for urban trailblazers
The third member of the Czech carmaker’s SUV family, the Škoda Kamiq, is targeted at urban explorers who love freedom, adventure and pursuing a wide range of interests. Put simply, it’s the ideal car for young drivers and couples looking for a compact, nimble and stylish city car.

As Kamiq spokesman Jan Hrbek says: “The Kamiq is the obvious choice for anyone looking for a reliable car that’s perfectly sized for towns and cities, but boasts the style and capabilities of an SUV. It was designed with a focus on both aesthetics and practicality, which will appeal both to the young and to anyone who appreciates versatility and agility in tight urban spaces.”
The Kamiq is compact and agile, ideal for urban traffic, yet it delivers surprisingly dynamic performance. While it’s the most compact of the three Škoda SUVs, it still has plenty of space for smaller families. “This car is a great example of clever use of space, with an emphasis on practicality and comfort,” Jan Hrbek adds.
Assistance systems for safety and convenience
Each of the Kodiaq, Karoq and Kamiq models is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems that enhance safety and convenience. The latest Kodiaq offers cutting-edge safety features, including adaptive cruise control, Turn Assist, Crossroad Assist and Collision Avoidance Assist. “The Kodiaq is our most technically advanced model. Alongside a host of safety assistance systems, it comes with AGR-certified seats with massage function for both driver and passenger and the new Smart Dials,” says Zbyněk Straškraba.
Smart Dials
The second-generation Kodiaq features three new intuitive multifunction controls below the infotainment display. These are turn-and-press dials, each with a 32 millimetre diameter colour screen. This clever combination of manual and digital controls allows quick access to many of the car’s functions.
Of course, the SUV models also feature advanced technologies like Front Assist camera system with predictive pedestrian protection, Lane Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition, Fatigue Detection, Multi-Collision Braking and rear parking sensors. All three models offer dual-zone or three-zone air-conditioning, soundproofing for acoustic comfort on longer journeys and an intuitive infotainment system with touchscreens and wireless connectivity.
Škoda’s electric SUVs
Škoda Enyaq
Škoda’s first pure electric SUV combines modern design, a spacious interior and an eco-friendly drive. With its ample range, the car is designed with long journeys in mind. The Enyaq offers state-of-the-art tech, including advanced assistance systems and intuitive infotainment. Flexible charging options and quiet running make it the ideal choice for anyone looking to make the switch to e-mobility without compromising on comfort and practicality.
Škoda Elroq
Building on the success of its Enyaq predecessor, the Elroq is a great addition to the electric SUV market. It showcases Škoda’s new Modern Solid design philosophy, which emphasises a clean and functional aesthetic. This SUV features a distinctive front design called Tech-Deck Face, which cleverly hides sensors behind a sleek black panel, accenting its modern looks. The Elroq is available in several configurations with battery capacities ranging from 55 to 82 kWh, delivering an estimated range per charge of more than 370 kilometres for the smallest battery, or 580 kilometres for the largest. The car is built for comfort, offering a spacious interior with handy storage compartments and an array of advanced tech, including a 13-inch infotainment screen and an augmented reality head-up display.
