ŠKODA Celebrates Three World Premières in Geneva

ŠKODA has staged three world premières at the Geneva Motor Show. This is where the KAMIQ, an urban SUV, the VISION iV study, and the KLEMENT concept made their first outings in an event streamed live on ŠKODA Storyboard.

The first to make its way into the glare of the spotlights was the new urban SUV, the ŠKODA KAMIQ. The latest addition to the ŠKODA SUV family is a modern, timeless and multipurpose car that will complement its bigger siblings, the KODIAQ and the KAROQ. This robust, always-online SUV ushers a range of assists into the urban SUV segment that until now have been the preserve of higher-end models.

ŠKODA also unveiled the KLEMENT, a concept for a future urban micro-mobility solution. “This crossover, for want of a better word, combines all the advantages of an electric scooter, an electric bicycle, and an electric motorbike. You really won’t find this anywhere else in the world,” said Bernhard Maier, ŠKODA Board Chairman, as he described the KLEMENT after riding it on to the stage. The KLEMENT has a top speed of 45 km/h and a per-charge range of up to 60 km. Features include cruise control, hill-start assist, ABS, and a heated seat and handlebars. “Most important of all, it’s a joy to ride!” added Bernhard Maier.

The ŠKODA VISION iV offers a glimpse of the near future. On its electric-only drive, it has a range of up to 500 kilometres. It is a vision of a fully electric ŠKODA which, Bernhard Maier says, will be introduced as early as next year. “This model dovetails perfectly with the values of our brands and products because it offers great value for money, has an ingeniously designed interior, and accommodates a host of simply clever features,” summed up Bernhard Maier.

The VISION iV is part of the carmaker’s plan to present more than 10 partially or fully electrified models by the end of 2020. “We are delivering e-mobility that is truly Simply Clever: a long range, rapid charging and an affordable price,” said Bernhard Maier.
