Team Škoda’s star line-up for this year

The 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship is just getting underway in the Czech Republic. See which stars Škoda has picked to represent the brand in the arenas this year.

As always, it’s the players who’ll be the main stars of the action in the ice hockey arenas in Prague and Ostrava, but Škoda cars are also going to vie for the attention of spectators at the venue and on TV screens this year. In each arena there are two cars on display right next to the ice. 

In Prague, these are the electric Enyaq Coupé RS in Moon White, which matches the ice surface itself, and a striking electrified Superb Combi Laurin & Klement iV in Ice Tea Yellow.

In Ostrava, the Sportline iV version of the latest-generation Kodiaq, again in Moon White, and the Enyaq Laurin & Klement in Arctic Silver will be closest to the ice hockey action in Arctic Silver.

But there will be even more cars for fans to admire in the arenas. The Octavia RS, which promises up to 195 kW of power, will be displayed in both Prague and Ostrava. In the Ostrava and Prague Arenas, fans can look forward to the hatchback version in Velvet Red and the estate version in Mamba Green respectively. And in Prague, the Octavia will be seconded by a red (Velvet Red) Kamiq Monte Carlo.

Ice hockey fleet

In keeping with tradition, Škoda cars will be available for use by the guests and organizers of the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, and once again the Czech carmaker is providing an array of cars to choose from. There will be 45 Škoda cars laid on for guests. The models will be the latest Kodiaq and Superb Combi models and the fully electric Enyaq Coupé RS.

Kodiaq and Superb for fans

Everyone going to the Official Fan Zones situated beside the arenas will be met by the iV plug-in hybrid versions of the latest generation of our Superb and Kodiaq models, both of which boast a purely electric range of up to 100 km. In both Prague and Ostrava, the Kodiaq Sportline will be on display, in either Velvet Red (Prague) or Race Blue (Ostrava). The Superb will be an estate with L&K trim, in Purity White (Prague) or Graphite Grey (Ostrava).

Fan Zones

Škoda, the Official Main Sponsor of this year’s IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, will again be offering ice hockey fans lots of fun things to do. Not only will visitors to the Official Fan Zones by the arenas in Prague and Ostrava be able to admire the Czech carmaker’s Kodiaq and Superb Combi models, they’ll also be able to show off their ice hockey skills. They can test their shooting power and accuracy and general stick skills or find out what it’s like to be a goaltender; they can even experience a virtual reality ice hockey training session. The Official Fan Zones will also feature historic ice hockey exhibits and the IIHF trophy for fans to admire.
