How does an electric motor behave differently from a combustion engine?
The power and torque follow rather different function curves in both these engines. While the power and torque of an internal combustion engine increase with RPMs until they reach maximum, the maximum torque of an electric motor is available from almost zero revolutions and decreases as it reaches the highest RPMs. In practice, this means that an electric car has its greatest tractive power at the start, and therefore relatively high dynamics.
